Dhaka, Sep 10 (Just News): Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Monday claimed that any general election in the country would not be acceptable to people without the release of the party’s imprisoned chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the remarks concluding the party's human chain formed in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka as part of the countrywide programme.

Hundreds of leaders and activists of BNP and its front and associate organisations started to gather in the venue before the scheduled time of beginning the human chain.

The human chain led by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was addressed, among others, by standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, and BNP-led alliance leaders Fariduzzaman Farhad of NPP and Mustafizur Rahman Iran of Bangladesh Labour Party.
