Islami Andolan unveils 10-point demand

Dhaka, Oct 5 (Just News): Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) has rolled out a 10-point charter with the dissolution of 10th parliament at the top of its agenda during a rally at the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan on Friday.


The Ameer of the party, known as Pir of Chormonai Mufti Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim presented the charters which are:

1. Dissolution of 10th parliament before the upcoming general elections.
2. Forming a neutral polls-time government with input from all registered parties.
3. Dissolution of the current Election Commission and forming a new EC.

4. Deploy army after the announcement of polls scheduled and ahead of new government assuming office with army having judicial magistracy on the election day.

5. Create of a level playing field for all parties, ensure equal participation of state-owned and private media including TV and radio and stop all kinds of harassment against activists of the political parties.

6. Declare corrupt candidates illegible to run in the elections.
7. No use of Electric Voting Machines (EVMs) during the elections.
8. Introduce national election based on proportionate representation method to establish political stability, national solidarity, and make parliament effective.

9. The release of all the students arrested during the road safety campaign and quota reform movement and withdrawal of all charges against them.
10. Repeal the Digital Security Act which infringes the freedom of media.
