Dozen police officials assigned to rig polls, says Rizvi

Dhaka, Dec 7 (Just News): Senior BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that 12 police officials have been assigned to rig votes in the upcoming 11th parliamentary polls.

He made the allegation on Friday during a media brief at BNP’s Naya Paltan office.

“A dozen police officials have been handed the task of rigging polls. They include Additional IG and DIG ranked officials from Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions,” claimed BNP’s joint secretary general.

According to Rizvi, “high officials of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), DIG and AIG’s have been tasked with the same role for Rajshahi and Rangpur area while Addition IG of Special Branch, DIG have been assigned in Khulna with a high ranking police officer as co-ordinator.”

He further claimed that additional ballot will be printed to cast false votes which will be handed to presiding officers by the police.

Slamming the Election Commision (EC), Rizvi said, “Election commissioners Md Rafiqul Islam, Kabita Khanam and Shahadat Hossain are said to be playing a role in favour of the ruling regime.”

“They regularly discuss every little issue with the prime minister’s Advisor HT Imam,” he claimed.

He also alleged that the Awami League have arranged trainings for 200,000 polling agents to learn strategies of ensuring a controlled vote in polling centres.
