Investigating officer Haroon makes fake records

Dhaka, Jan 3 (Just News): Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's lawyer and former attorney general AJ Mohammad Ali said the investigating officer Haroon-or-Rashid has made fake records in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

He also said Haroon has given false statements supporting the fake records in the court.

AJ Mohammad Ali said this while placing arguments for the sixth day in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

Former prime minister Khaleda Zia reached the Special Judges Court at Bakshibazar in Old Dhaka at 11am Wednesday.

Mentioning the dates of the complainant's statement, investigation and submission of charge sheet, Mohammad Ali said the investigation is supposed to be completed within 45 working days as per rule. But 395 working days were taken and during the period, fake records were made.

Placing different sections of Rules of Business, Secretariat Directory and the proceedings of the Prime Ministers Office, Mohammad Ali said the records were not prepared as per rule.

Important witness of the case former principal secretary Kamal Uddin Siddiqui's secretary Syed Joglul Pasha had no jurisdiction to see the recrods relating to the orphanage fund.

Earlier, two lawyers of Khaleda placed arguments in the case.

The third lawyer and former attorney general AJ Mohammad Ali continues placing arguments.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Mosharraf Hossain Kajal first completed his arguments.

In an allegation of embezzling over Tk 21 million from Zia Orphange Trust, ACC filed a graft case against four including Khaleda Zia and her elder son and BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman.
