BNP delegation barred from meeting Abrar's family

Police have barred a delegation of BNP from meeting the family of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Abrar Fahad.

The law enforcement members forced them to return to Dhaka from the toll plaza of Lalon Shah Bridge at Bheramara part around 11:40am on Sunday.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Amanullah Aman was among the delegation members.

Bheramara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Alim said the law and order situation worsened when Buet Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Saiful Islam came to meet Abrar's family on October 9.

"The BNP delegation was discouraged from meeting the family at Raydanga village for the same reason," he added.”

Fahad, a second year student of electrical and electronic engineering department, was beaten to death inside the university's Sher-e-Bangla Hall on October 7.
