Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said a list of controversial leaders and the intruders has been sent to the party’s district units, ahead of their upcoming councils.
District unit leaders have been also told to keep these people away from the councils, he said on Thursday.
Quader made the remarks while addressing a press briefing at Awami League president’s political office at Dhaka's Dhanmondi after a secretariat-level meeting of the party.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the list in coordination with intelligence agencies, and sent them to the unit leaders so that these controversial people and intruders cannot get any post through the upcoming councils," he said.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said Awami League's high command is very much aware of the list.
"Sheikh Hasina is directly monitoring the situation and has ordered the unit leaders to deal with it accordingly," he added.
