The Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Sunday came up with a call to the people to unit to combat the coronavirus disease.
The party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a statement, said, ‘The present situation is, undoubtedly, a world problem and it is a national crisis too.’
‘We call on the people to get united at any cost at this very time of serious crisis for the interest of the country and her people,’ he added.
He also expressed concern and shock at the death of numerous people, including Bangladeshi expatriates, across the globe, irrespective of their religions and casts.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a statement, also said that the people of the world have been passing days in utter panic due to the deadly virus infection and the whole world have fallen in serious uncertainty.
‘The line of newly infection and deaths is expanding every moment. Normal life has come to a standstill for lockdown, isolation and self-quarantine,’ he said, alleging that the situation in the country would have not been so serious if the government was not so indifferent over the issue from the very beginning.
He mentioned that the highest number of Bangladeshi expatriates died in COVID-19 infection in the US Fakhrul said that the government should give clear idea about ‘lockdown’, ‘quarantine’ or ‘self-isolation’ to avoid any confusion.
He sought divine mercy to save all the people of the world from the clutch of coronavirus.
The BNP leader also prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of those died in coronavirus infection.
