Mismanagement deepened corona crisis, alleges BNP

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday alleged that a serious 'mismanagement' has deepened the coronavirus crisis in the country.

“It’s unfortunate that people are not getting treatment after being infected with coronavirus. The hospitals that are designated for coronavirus patients also failing to provide treatment to people . I came to know no arrangement was made for providing food to the nurses working at Kuwait Moitree Hospital ,” he said.

Speaking at an inaugural programme of a handwashing basin at Hatirjheel through skype, the BNP leader also said, “A serious mismanagement is everywhere due to the government’s negligence and ignorance. They still don’t know how to tackle the current situation.”

Fakhrul said people in different districts are also getting infected with the coronavirus, but there are no sufficient testing centres and doctors there. “A terrifying and inhuman situation is prevailing in the country. We're urging all to get united to overcome such a situation.”

He called upon people of all walks of life to stand by the destitute and the poor as per their ability.

Fakhrul said BNP acting secretary general Tanique Rahman urged their party leaders and activists to work unitedly to ease the sufferings of people and control the spread of the coronavirus.

Zaiur Rahman Foundation set up the handwashing basin so that people can wash their hands and remain safe from the virus. It has already installed around 300 such basins at different parts of the country.
