The United States and Chia has started a new round of high-level talks on Wednesday morning in Washington, D.C. to address their differences on outstanding economic and trade issues.

Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, United States Trade Representative (USTR) Robert Lighthizer, Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin and the delegations attended this high-level economic and trade consultations.

Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chief of the Chinese side of the China-U.S. comprehensive economic dialogue, leads the Chinese delegation with members from major industrial sectors of the Chinese government.

The talks, scheduled for two days, mark a significant step in the implementation of the important consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump during a working dinner in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on dec 1.

From U.S. side USTR General Counsel Stephen Vaughn, USTR Chief of Staff Jamieson Greer, Acting Assistant USTR for China Affairs Terry McCartin, Department of Treasury Chief of Staff Eli Miller, Department of Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary for China Alan Turley, Deputy Director of the National Economic Council Clete Willems, Trade Counsel to the Secretary of Agriculture Jason Hafemeister, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Laura Stone were present in the meeting.
