M Mushfiqul from Washington, Nov 30 (Just News): The United States expressed its concern about ongoing reports of extrajudicial killings (EJKs), deaths in custody, forced disappearances and unlawful detentions in Bangladesh.
US Department of State Spokesperson Heather Nauert expressed this reaction on Wednesday over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent remarks at the parliament on disappearances. Hasina claimed that forced disappearances in the USA and UK more higher than Bangladesh.
Replying a question on disappearances in Bangladesh spokesperson said to Just News BD, “We have consistently said we are concerned about reports of extrajudicial killings (EJKs), deaths in custody, forced disappearances and unlawful detentions”.
We continue to urge the Government of Bangladesh to investigate fully these allegations of human rights violations and abuses by government personnel and hold all those responsible to account, the Spokesperson added in writing.
