Mushfiqur departs with Tigers five down

74.2 ov; Ban 193/5: Thats's another wicket and Warrican has struck again. Mushfiqur Rahim tries to keep it on the ground as he fends off the delivery but ball just turns about enough to take the outside edge. Cornwall at slip gets down and holds onto it. Big wicket. Mushfiqur Rahim c Cornwall b Warrican 38 (69b 6x4 0x6) SR: 55.07

71.6 ov; Ban 186/4: Mushfiqur punches Brathwaite through the covers to bring up the fifty partnership between him and Shakib.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim have managed to put on a meaningful partnership post tea as Tigers reach 180 for four after 70 overs.

64 ov; Ban 167/4: The last 10 overs have produced 42 runs and a wicket as Shadman fell. Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim have looked pretty comfortable and picked up boundaries on offer.

The players are back on after tea. Shakib and Mushy gets a boundary each off the first over after tea, bowled by Cornwall. Bangladesh are 150 for four after 59 overs.

Tea: END OF OVER 58; BDESH: 140/4

Tea has been called on Day 1 of the first Test being played at Chattogram. The second session of the day looked a promising one for the Tigers when Mominul and Shadman built a fifty-odd partnership while looking to get in. However the end of the session saw Windies back on top as both the left-handers departed to Warrican. Two experienced batters in Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan are at the crease but Windies will be looking to assert their dominance by striking early in the third session.

Mushfiqur Rahim 9 (19)

Shakib Al Hasan 3 (7)

Shakib Al Hasan has come to the crease. Two big wickets for West Indies this session.

56.2 ov; Ban 134/4: Shadman goes for the sweep but misses. Was caught in between going finer with the sweep or going more square in front of the stumps. Warrican and Windies go up in appeal and it's given. Shadman doesn't review. Replays reveal that he should have, ball pitched in line but would have missed the stumps with the turn Warrcan is getting. Shadman Islam lbw b Warrican 59 (154b 6x4 0x6) SR: 38.31

52.3 ov; Ban 122/3: Shadman rocks back and looks to pull Warrican and hits Bommer at short leg, who is jumping and bouncing and trying to get out of the way. Everyone sees the funny side of it. Was too difficult for short leg to take. The Windies players are having a laugh at that evasive action.

Mushfiqur Rahim is at the crease after Mominul's departure.

50.5 ov; Ban 119/3: Warrican flights one up with a dominant leg-side field for Mominul who had in the earlier over looked to go over the top. This time Mominul does not quite get to the pitch of the delivery but goes through his aerial flick anyway. It's hit hard and Campbell at short mid wicket fumbles once but then manages to keep it. Bangladesh lose their captain. Mominul Haque c Campbell b Warrican 26 (97b 2x4 0x6) SR: 26.8

48.1 ov; Ban 114/2: Shadman drives Warrican through the covers and manages to split the field for a boundary to bring up his fifty. That's Shadman's second Test fifty. !28-ball 50, laced with six fours.

The left-handed duo have not tried to engineer anything in a surface that looks good for batting so far. 18 runs have come in the last 10 overs as Mominul took his time to get in while Shadman is looking more set at the crease following the interval. 43.4 over; Ban 102/2: Mayers bowls down Mominul's pads and the captain flicks it away for four to bring hundred up for Bangladesh.

42.4 ov; Ban 93.2: Mominul has been watchful but this time provides a half chance for West Indies to grab onto but man at short leg cannot keep it.

We are back after lunch with Mominul Haque and Shadman Islam continuing on. The West Indies have done well in this first session with the important wickets of Tamim and Najmul Hossain.

END OF OVER 30; BDESH: 75/2CRR: 2.50

Shadman Islam 33 (83)

Mominul Haque 3 (24)

Shannon Gabriel 8-3-26-0

Jomel Warrican 1-0-2-0

28.6 Overs, BAN 69/2: Bangladesh Test skipper Mominul Haque drives a Jomel Warrican delivery towards long on and takes a single. And that's Lunch on Day 1.

Not much to talk about the first session. Tamim Iqbal fell early in the innings when an angling in Kemar Roach delivery went through the gap between his pad and bat and hit his stumps in the 5th over of the game. The left-hander departed after a 15-ball nine. Things looked good for the Tigers since then with Shadman Islam and Najmul Hossain Shanto negotiating the spin of Rahkeem Cornwall well. The spinner, however, did get some sharp turn that beat both Shadman and Shanto at times. The most unfortunate incident of the session was when a big mix-up between Shanto and Shadman saw the former being run-out in the 24th over, ending a promising 43-run second-wicket stand.

Shadman remains unbeaten on 33 off 82 deliveries while skipper Mominul is not out on two off 19 deliveries as Bangladesh go to Lunch.

Mix-up between Shanto and Shadman cost Bangladesh their second wicket

23.1 Overs, BAN 66/2: An angling in delivery from Kyle Mayers and Shadman Islam works it towards fine leg. There seems to be a big mix-up between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadman as they want to take two. And that has led to an unnecessary run-out. A very good looking partnership comes to an end as Shanto departs after a 58-ball 25. Najmul Hossain Shanto run out (Roach/†Da Silva/Mayers) 25 (58b 3x4 0x6) SR: 43.1

17.4 Overs, BAN 50/1: Najmul Hossain Shanto works a Kyle Mayers delivery towards deep square and takes an easy two. And that brings up the fifty for Bangladesh.

Tamim falls soon after surpassing Mushy as most run-getter for Bangladesh in Tests

4.3 Overs, BAN 23/1: An angling in length delivery from pacer Kemar Roach got into the gap between the bat and pad of left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal and hits the stumps. Tamim falls after scoring 15 off nine deliveries. The left-hander, playing in his 61st Test for Bangladesh, had surpassed Mushfiqur Rahim as the most run-getter in the format when he took a single off Shannon Gabriel in the last over. Tamim has now scored 4414 in 61 matches with nine centuries and 27 fifties in Tests for Bangladesh. Tamim Iqbal b Roach 9 (15b 2x4 0x6) SR: 60
