Skipper Mominul Haque completed his 10th Test cenutyr to help Bangladesh consolidate their position in the first Test against the West Indies in the first Test in Chattoogram on Saturday.

Mominul remained unbeaten on 83 as Bangladesh reached 195-5 in 63 overs in their second innings after the lunch break on the fourth day to stretch their lead to 366 so far.

The Tiger, who got a massive 171-run lead in the first innings, resumed the fourth day’s play on 47-3.

Mushfiqur Rahim was the only batsman to get out on the day when he was dismissed lbw by Rahkeem Cornwall for 18.

Mushfiq had unsuccessfully reviewed the decision of on-field umpire after he was hit plumb by Cornwall on the backfoot.

Mominul completed his seventh Test hundred at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium with a single fifty off Cornwall, shared 122 runs with Liton Das in an unbroken fourth wicket stand to save Bangladesh from mediocrity.

Liton, who survived a review early in his innings, remained unbeaten on 65 alongside Mominul when this report was filed.

They are the last recognised batting pair in Bangladesh line up as Shakib Al Hasan is unlikely to bat due to a groin injury he picked up during this match.

West Indies were bowled out for 259 in their first innings replying to Bangladesh’s 430 runs.
