Tigers beat Kiwis by 4 runs in second T20

Bangladesh registered their back-to-back wins over New Zealand as they beat the Black Caps by four runs in the second of the five-match Twenty20 series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

Chasing a target of 142 runs to win, the tourists managed to score 137-5 in 20 overs.

Win the win, Bangladesh lead the five-match Twenty20 series 2-0 after defeating the Kiwis in the first match by seven wickets at the same venue on Wednesday.

For New Zealand, skipper Tom Latham remained not out on 65 off 49 balls while Will Young scored 22 off 28 balls.

For Bangladesh, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and spinner Mahedi Hasan clinched 2-29 and 2-12 respectively.

Earlier, opener Mohammad Naim scored a run-a-ball 39 as Bangladesh posted 141-6 in the stipulated 20 overs.

Naim and Liton Das (33) put on 59 for the first wicket after Bangladesh elected to bat first on the slow wicket in Mirpur.

In the middle Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah’s unbeaten 37 boosted his side's score.
