Top BNP leaders sued

Dhaka, Oct 1 (Just News): BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and five other standing committee members were sued for subversive activities today.

Police filed the case with Hatirjheel Police Station early today, hours after the leaders, from a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka, urged the party men to prepare for both movement and elections.

Along with Fakhrul and Rizvi, senior BNP leaders Mirza Abbas, Moudud Ahmed, Nazarul Islam Khan, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Moyeen Khan, Amanullah Aman, Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu and 45 other leaders and activists were made accused in the case.

They were made accused of instigating supporters to blast crude bombs, attack on police in an attempt to kill them, vandalism of vehicles and creating obstacle to police duties, according to the case statement.

BNP men were found carrying five bamboo sticks, approximately 1.5 litres of petrol, remaining of exploded crude bombs, shards of broken glass and brick chips at a public place in Hatirjheel area where they intended to use those for attacking the police force and citizens to create chaos, the statement read.
