Bangladesh clinch SAFF U-18 Women’s title

Dhaka, Oct 7 (Just News): Bangladesh clinched the title of the inaugural SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship, beating Nepal 1-0 in the final at the Changlimithang Stadium today.

Defender Masura Parvin scored the winning goal with a header in the 49th minute of the match. The centre-back pounced on to a long free-kick from Maria Manda to decide this keenly-contested final.

Bangladesh had beaten the same opposition 2-1 in the group stages of the championship. Bangladesh striker Sirat Jahan Shopna became the top-scorer of the tournament with eight goals.

Bangladesh had lost the final of the SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship against India at this venue two months ago.
