Shakib, Mushfiq named in Guardian’s Test Team of the Year

Dhaka, Dec 27 (Just News): The year 2017 was not the best year for Bangladesh cricket, but Test wins against the likes of Sri Lanka and Australia were certainly commendable feats.

The Tigers had individuals who had excelled as well, and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan have made their way into The Guardian's team of the year thanks to their performances in those 12 months.

"This year my fellow selectors were Vic Marks, Ali Martin, Tim de Lisle, Rob Smyth, Adam Collins and Will Macpherson. We each picked our own XI, and when we tallied the votes, this is what we came up with," Guardian's Andy Bull wrote on the site.

The team: David Warner (Australia), Dean Elgar (South Africa), Cheteshwar Pujara (India), Steve Smith (Australia), Virat Kohli (India), Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh), Mushfiqur Rahim (Bangladesh), Mitchell Starc (Australia), Nathan Lyon (Australia), Jimmy Anderson (England) and Kagiso Rabada (South Africa).
