Tamim admitted to hospital

Left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal has been admitted to hospital in Dhaka Monday.

The left-handed batsman has been suffering from high fever over the past two days and has been kept at the hospital as precautionary measure.

Initial medical report suggested there is no danger of dengue but the doctors have advised for further tests.

If everything goes well, Tamim will be discharged today morning and will take at least a week to recover.

Tamim will join Dhaka Platoon in Chittagong once he recovers.

Tamim is however, set to miss the next game in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 Wednesday.

Platoon manager Ahsan Ullah Hasan informed that the side are confident of having Tamim back for the game against Cumilla Warriors at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city next Monday.

“He was admitted to the hospital as precautionary measure. We can only hope for him to recover well soon and get back to action. We hope he will be back for us for the game Monday. Tamim will join the team in Chittagong once he recovers,” said Hasan.

Tamim was earlier suffering from a groin trouble picked up while batting against Sylhet Thunder Saturday at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital.

During his visit to the hospital, Tamim had undergone scan for further analysis.

Tamim made a low key start to the BBPL, scoring just five runs, only to come back strongly in the second and third game, scoring a match-winning 74 against Cumilla before a 31 against Thunder.
