Bangladesh Football Federation has been fined 15,000 Swiss francs by world football governing body FIFA for failing to control fans during Bangladesh’s home match against Qatar in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on October 10.
‘FIFA fined us as fans moved over the fence from the gallery during the match,’ said BFF general secretary Abu Nyeem Shohag.
‘Our fans should be more conscious about this matter, otherwise, we have to face more problems for this reason during our upcoming international matches,’ he added.
The fine is approximately Tk 13.22 lakh in Bangladeshi currency.
Bangladesh lost to Qatar 0-2 in their Group-E match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
