Dhaka, Dec 27 (Just News): Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has asked all mobile network operators to block their 3G and 4G services across the country until further notice.
The telecom regulator issued the directive after 10pm Thursday.
The telecom regulator came up with the directives tonight to stop both the voices and data services of the mobile.
The order will remain active until further instruction comes in this regard.
Earlier, law enforcement agencies suggested the Election Commission to take a decision on downgrading mobile internet speed to 2G level on the voting day.
Only 2G services (both voice and data) will remain active, said a top official of a network operator, who asked to remain anonymous.
The official said the process to shut down the services had begun already.
