Amid recent reports of soybean oil scarcity in the market, the price of bottled soybean oil and loose oil has been raised by Tk8 per litre. On Monday, Trade Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin announced this information at the secretariat following a meeting with traders regarding edible oil prices.
Now, bottled soybean oil will cost litre Tk175, and loose soybean oil will sell for Tk157.
Previously, bottled oil was priced at Tk167 and loose oil at Tk149.
Earlier, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said there is no shortage of edible oil in the market and the intern government has taken steps to ensure adequate supply of the oil during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
