Gold price has risen further to hit a fresh record of Tk 1,09,874 a bhari (11.664 grams) on the local market.
Earlier on November 26, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association raised the price of 22-carat gold to Tk 108,125 a bhari, after increasing it to Tk 1,06,376 a bhari on November 18.
The country’s jewellers on Wednesday hiked the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 1,749 a bhari, setting the new price of the precious metal at Tk 1,09,874 a bhari, according to a Bangladesh Jewellers Association press release.
The new price will be effective today.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of the Bangladesh Jewellers Association made the decision.
The price of 21-carat gold has been increased to Tk 1,04,859 a bhari from Tk 1,03,226 a bhari and that of 18-carat gold to Tk 89,929 a bhari from Tk 88,471 a bhari.
