The government today appointed M Shaheen Iqbal as the chief of Bangladesh Navy after promoting him to the rank of vice-admiral from rear-admiral.
The Ministry of Defence issued a gazette notification in this regard, saying he has been appointed for the next three years.
He will assume office on July 25, it reads.
