The Detective Branch (DB) police has conducted a special drive with Regent Group Chairman Shahed Karim alias Md Shahed in Dhaka's Uttara area.
During the drive conducted midnight past Saturday, police recovered a pistol, a bullet, a magazine, 10 bottles of phensedyl, and five bottles of liquor from an abandoned car on Sonargaon Janapad Road in Uttara.
DB police later filed two cases at Uttara West police station under the Narcotics Control Act and Arms Act, confirmed the station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tapan Chandra Saha.
The drive was conducted in front of Shahed's house at Sector 11 and the white car, which Shahed owns, was found abandoned there, he said.
The OC added that the vehicle was also impounded.
