At least eight people were killed after a microbus lost control and fell into a roadside pond at Bashati area of Phulpur upazila in Mymensingh .
The accident took place around 7am on Tuesday and the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, said Phulpur police station Officer-in-Charge Imarat Hossain to Dhaka Tribune.
He said the driver of the microbus, which was on its way to Sherpur, lost control over the steering and the vehicle fell into a roadside pond, when the eight were killed on the spot.
Four other injured from the incident were taken to Phulpur Upazila Health Complex.
