Attorney General Mahbubey Alam was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Friday after being infected with COVID-19.
He has urged everyone to pray for his swift recovery.
Law Minister Anisul Haq confirmed the matter.
The minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs also said that his physical condition is stable and he is under supervision of specialist doctors.
According to the Attorney General’s office sources, Mahbubey Alam has suffered from pneumonia a few times in the past. So, as a precaution he has been admitted to CMH after testing positive for COVID-19 on Friday.
The attorney general represented the state at different High Court benches on Thursday. He also went to Dhanmondi-32 with his other colleagues to pay homage to Bangabandhu at his mural on the occasion of the new appointment of Additional Attorney General SM Munir.
