DU student files fresh complaint against Nur, fellows

The female student of Dhaka University, who had filed two rape cases against the immediate past vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union, Nurul Haque Nur, and five others, filed a fresh complaint on Wednesday.

The victim accused Nur and his fellows of branding her characterless and filed the complaint with the Cyber Tribunal in the morning, prosecutor Nazrul Islam Shamim said.

He said that the tribunal was yet to pass an order on whether to accept the complaint or not.

The student filed a case against Chhatra Odhikar Parishad leaders Nur, Hasan Al Mamun, Nazmul Hasan Sohag, Saiful Islam, Nazmul Huda and Abdullah Hel Baki with Lalbagh police station for rape and abetting the crime on September 20.

She filed another case with the Kotwali police station the next day against the people on the same charges.

She filed another case with the Shahbagh police station in Dhaka under the Digital Security Act on September 23, accusing Nur and his fellows of cyberbullying.

The Detective Branch of police on October 11 arrested Saiful and Nazmul in connection with the cases before a Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court placed them on a two-day remand.
