Around 50 people were detained by two mobile courts for violating health guidelines for coronavirus in Khulna today morning.
People who went out without wearing masks were being detained and fined during the first one hour of the drive since 10:00am today, our Khulna correspondent reports.
The mobile courts also fined eight people Tk 6,000 during the drive conducted in two areas in the city.
Yousuf Ali, additional district magistrate of Khulna District Administration, said strict measures have been taken to prevent the second wave of coronavirus infection.
According to the decision of the district law and order committee meeting, people who do not wear masks will be punished.
Khulna Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mohammad Helal Hossain presided over the meeting where the decision was taken yesterday.
