At least six buses were set on fire at six separate places in the capital in about two hours between 12:35 pm and 2:30pm on Thursday, Fire Service and Civil Defence officials said.
They said that no casualty was reported and the fire service officials doused the fire.
They, however, could not inform who, why and how the buses were set on fire.
‘We got the first report of setting fire at capital’s Khilgaon at 12:35pm,’ said on duty fire service Rasel Shikder.
Besides Khilgaon, one each bus was set on fire at Nayabazar area of Bangshal, near Kantaban at Shahbagh, Matijheel, near the National Press Club on Topkhana Road and near Golap Shah Mazar at Gulistan in the city, he said.
