Afsana Mimi becomes director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy

Afsana Mimi has been named the director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The government has appointed the renowned actor for this post on a contract for three years.

The actor told that she had signed the contract on November 11.

"I have spent most of my life on stage, or in front of the camera," says Afsana Mimi. "I am grateful to the government for the opportunity, as I can now help develop the acting scene here. I am very happy."

An actor who garnered immense fame in the 90's, Afsana Mimi has also made her mark as a director in recent years. The "Kothau Keu Nei" actor has also starred in multiple films including "Chitra Nodir Pare" and "Nodir Naam Modhumoti", among others.

She is also the owner of production house Green Screen, which helmed numerous successful projects like "Doll's House", "Kacher Manush" and "Poush Falguner Pala".
