Investigation officer of Sylhet's Murari Chand College rape case will submit charge sheet soon as the DNA test reports were handed over to him today.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) BM Ashraf Ullah Taher has confirmed the development to our correspondent.
The DNA samples of eight accused of the case were collected and sent to a Dhaka lab on October 1 and 3. After testing the samples were sent to a Sylhet court and it handed over the report to the IO today.
However, police did not give any details on the DNA report.
On September 25, a group of youths raped a woman at a hostel of MC College after forcefully taking the victim and her husband, whom they tied up.
The husband of the victim filed the case on the same night with Shah Poran Police Station mentioning names of six people and 2-3 unnamed men.
Eight persons, including all the six named accused in the case, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
