It’s our good luck, says Babunagari on sedition case

Two cases have been filed against three people, including Hefazat-e-Islam chief Junaid Babunagari, for their remarks opposing the installation of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s sculptures.

In an instant reaction to the cases, Babunagari said that they had been sued as they spoke against the sculptures to spread the message of the Quran and Hadith.

In a Facebook post, Babunagari’s personal secretary In’amul Hasan Faruqi said that Babunagari had taken the news gladly after being informed about the cases.

“The cases will help our Najat [salvation] and it’s our good luck,” Babunagari said.

The President of Muktijoddha Mancha, Aminul Islam Bulbul, and the executive president and founder of Bangabandhu Foundation, Advocate Moshiur Malek, filed the cases with the court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sotyabrata Shikder on Monday.

Speaking at Chittagong’s Hathazari upazila on November 27, Hefazat chief Junaid Babunagari threatened to tear down all statues in the country.
