COVID-19 death toll crosses 7,000

Bangladesh logged an additional 34 deaths and 1,329 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Wednesday, counting the death toll to 7,020 and infections to 489,178.

Among the deceased, 23 were male and 11 female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 12,630 specimens were tested in the timeline at 140 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 29,56,882 specimens as of December 12.

A total of 3,185 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 417,503.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
