COVID-19 claims 40 more, infects 1,877 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional 40 deaths and 1,877 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Tuesday, counting the death toll to 7,129 and infections to 494,209.

Among the deceased, 26 were male and 14 female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 19,054 specimens were tested in the timeline at 140 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 30,05,512 specimens as of December 15.

A total of 2,884 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 426,729.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
