Bangladesh reports 27 more COVID-19 deaths

Bangladesh reported 27 more deaths form COVID-19 and 1,632 new cases in 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

The new figures took to 7,156 the death toll from the novel coronavirus in the country and 4,95,841 the number of people tested positive, said the Directorate General of Health Services.

Bangladesh has so far conducted 30,22,537 tests for COVID-19, including 18,032 on in 24 hours until 8:00am on Wednesday, and the test positivity rate stands at 16.40 per cent.

The country reported first COVID-19 cases on March 8. The number of cases reached the 3,00,000 mark on August 26. The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll topped 7,000 mark on December 12.
