Shafik Rehman and Taleya Rehman receive Covid 19 vaccination

Writer and tv show presenter Shafik Rehman and his wife Chairperson of Democracywatch Taleya Rehman , were given Pfizer-bioNTech Covid 19 vaccination on Saturday 19 December 2020 in North London. Both were in the first category of people in UK who are to be vaccinated on a priority basis because both are over the age of 80 and Taleya Rehman has leukaemia.

Both reported that they are well. A second dose will be given to them after 21 days which is the normal procedure.

They have praised the disciplinary system administered by the National Health Service (NHS) across the whole country in this huge vaccination campaign.

Although the vaccination is free for all UK citizens, it has been reported that some belonging to Asian community are showing reluctance to take it.

Shafik and Taleya Rehman both have urged that all members of Bangladeshi in UK must come forward to get themselves vaccinated whenever the opportunity comes to them. They must cooperate to save their own lives and as well as other’s lives. This is a civic duty for everyone.
