Fire broke out at a slum in Mirpur’s Kalshi area on Monday afternoon.
Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room duty officer Jibon Mia said that the fire sparked at about 2:00pm. The authorities, however, could not confirm the reason immediately.
The official said that six units of firefighters went to the spot to extinguish the fire.
Earlier in November, at least 55 shanties were gutted after a fire broke out at a slum in the same area.
