Directorate General of Health Services director general ABM Khurshid Alam had been reappointed as the director general on contract for two years from December 31, 2020, by the government.
Khurshid was supposed to go on post-retirement leave from January.
Public administration ministry in a notification on Thursday said that he had been contractually appointed for two more years on condition of suspending his PRL and retirement benefit.
Khurshid, who was serving as a professor of surgery at Dhaka Medical College, was appointed as DG of the health directorate on July 23 on the back of resignation of the then DG Abul Kalam Azad amid widespread allegation of corruption in the health sector.
