COVID-19 claims 30 more, infects 834 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional 30 deaths and 834 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Saturday, counting the death toll to 7,428 and infections to 508,099.

Among the deceased, 23 were male and seven female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 9,912 specimens were tested in the timeline at 163 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 31,59,260 specimens as of December 26.

A total of 1,685 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 450,488.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
