A Dhaka University student reportedly committed suicide on Sunday at his room in Keraniganj.
The deceased, Towhidul Islam Siam, is a third-year student of the zoology department.
A native at Hizla, Keraniganj of Dhaka, Siam was a resident student at Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall of the university.
DU proctor AKM Golam Rabbani confirmed the matter Sunday night and said that he was shocked hearing that the student committed suicide hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his home.
The reason behind his suicide could not be known immediately.
