Covid-19: 30 die in 24 hours

Thirty people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours (till 8:00am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 7,509 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

At least 1,181 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of infected people to 5,11,261, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 8.1 percent and the total positivity rate is 15.98 percent.

A total of 14,588 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.

At least 1,245 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours as well.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 4,54,563 and the recovery rate at 88.91 percent.

Among the 30 deceased, 19 were men and 11 were women. One of the deceased was between 0-10 years old, three were within 41-50, five within 51-60 and 21 were above 60 years old, added the release.
