A Juba League leader was shot to death in Kochubnia area of Teknaf on Friday at about 5:00am.
The deceased is identified as Mohammad Osman Shikdar, 40, a resident at Kochubnia village in Sabrang union.
Mohammad Osman was the Juba League organising secretary of Sabrang.
Quoting family members, police said at Nayapara Bazar on December 27 Osaman was beaten by Mohammad Shaker, son of former upazila parishad member Mohammed Abdullah and Kefayet Ullah, son of Md Kashim over the stealing of easy-bike.
Later, Osman filed a case with Teknaf police against Shaker and Kefayet.
Police and family members suspected that he might have been killed as a consequence of the incident when he was going for fazr prayer.
Locals recovered the bullet-hit body of Osman and sent it to upazila health complex where on-duty doctor declares him dead.
Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Teknaf model police said that the body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
