The health condition of Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member and former minister Moudud Ahmed deteriorated on Tuesday at a Dhaka hospital.
The BNP leader was admitted to Evercare Hospital on December 29, 2020 after the hemoglobin level in his blood decreased.
Moudud's condition improved until January 3 but deteriorated later.
The 80-year-old BNP leader is now under the treatment of professor Shahabuddin Ahmed Talukder at the Coronary Care Unit of the hospital.
He said that Moudud Ahmed tested COVID-19 negative and sought blessings to the countrymen.
