An O-level student of Mastermind School died allegedly after rape at Dhanmondi in the capital on Thursday.
The dead is Anushka Nur Amin, 16, of Dhanmondi area in the city.
Anuska’s cousin Shariful Islam claimed that Anushka was picked up by her friend Dihan and was taken to the rooftop of his house where she was raped.
He alleged that she died from bleeding profusely after rape.
Shariful said that Dihan took Anushka to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital as she fell sick due to rape.
Kalabagan Police Station duty officer sub-inspector Mohammad Rumman Khan said that they recovered the body from Anwar Khan Modern Hospital in Dhaka in the afternoon and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
He, however, could not say how she died.
The SI also said that they had picked up two suspected youths, including the girl’s friend Dihan, for interrogation.
He said that filing of a case was under process.
The hospital management, however, declined to say whether she died at the hospital or brought dead, saying that the local police was looking into the matter.
A police officer said that the girl went to the house of Dihan, with whom she had affairs for last few months, in the afternoon and fell sick there.
