COVID-19 claims 16 more, infects 813 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional 16 deaths and 813 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Thursday, counting the death toll to 7,849 and infections to 525,723.

Among the deceased, 11 were male and five female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 16,608specimens were tested in the timeline at 199 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 34,18,114 specimens as of January 14.

A total of 883 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 470,405.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
