Covid-19: 13 die, 762 infected, 718 recovered in 24 hours

Thirteen people have died from Covid-19 infections in the country during the last 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 7,862 and the death rate stands at 1.49 percent.

A total of 762 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 5,26,485, added the briefing.

The current positivity rate is 5.57 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.34 percent.

Meanwhile, 718 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours (till 8am today). The total number of recoveries stands at 4,71,123 and the recovery rate at 89.48 percent.

A total of 13,678 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.

Among the deceased, nine were male and four were female, while two were between 31-40 years old, one between 41-50, two within 51-60 and the rest of the eight were above 60 years old.
