Covid-19: 17 die, 363 infected, 337 recover in 24 hours

Seventeen people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 8,111 and the death rate stands at 1.52 percent.

At least 363 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 5,34,770, added the release.

The current positivity rate is three percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.69 percent.

A total of 12,084 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 337 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 4,79,297 and the recovery rate at 89.63 percent.

Among the seventeen deceased, 10 were men and seven woman while one was between 21-30 years old, two within 31-40, two between 51-60 and 12 were above 60 years old, added the release.
