Police's Detective Branch have arrested Ron Haque Sikder, managing director (MD) of Sikder Group, soon after he landed at Dhaka airport.
Ron was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 10 am today, Golam Saqlain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gulshan division) of DB police, told The Daily Star.
He has been shown arrested in a case filed by Exim Bank, he added.
Ron came to Dhaka from Dubai, due to the death of his father, said police. He has been a fugitive since being charged in an attempted murder case.
Another accused in the case, Ron's brother Dipu Haque Sikder, did not return to the country, said police.
Iftekharul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of DMP, said Ron has been sent to court following arrest from Dhaka airport.
Md Mushfique, Officer-in-Charge, Immigration at Dhaka airport, also confirmed the arrest.
