COVID-19 claims five more in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional five more deaths and 404 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Friday, counting the death toll to 8,253 and infections to 539,975.

Among the deceased, four were male and one female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 14,328 specimens were tested in the timeline at 210 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 38,22,242 specimens as of February 12.

A total of 422 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 486,393.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
