COVID-19 claims eight more, infects 406 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional eight more deaths and 406 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Friday, counting the death toll to 8,337 and infections to 542,674.

Among the deceased, six were male and two female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 14,232 specimens were tested in the timeline at 214 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 39,22,489 specimens as of February 19.

A total of 536 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 490,468.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
