Authorities have seized over 17 kilograms of gold bar from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram in an abandoned condition on Monday, said officials.
The flight, which was from Abu Dhabi, landed at 10:15 am at the Shah Amanat International Airport, said Wing Commander Forhad Hossain Khan, manager of the airport.
The gold bars were found abandoned on a passenger seat of the flight, he said.
Customs intelligence and a government intelligence agency raided the flight and recovered the gold, he said.
Rokhshana Khatun, the deputy commissioner of custom, told that they recovered a total of 17 kilograms and 400 grams of gold bars from flight BG128.
